"Based on my initial research the tech community looks a little thin, but I have to imagine with all the brain-power at Yale that there are some really cool technology groups in the area." No. Not really. Sorry to dash your hopes. "Also, if I want a big city tech fix it's tough to beat a 90-minute train ride to New York City and a 2-hour ride to Boston." New Haven is just a bit beyond the edge of commuting distance. It is just far enough that train service isn't as frequent. Here is the schedule info - http://as0.mta.info/mnr/schedules/sched_form.cfm - look for trips back and forth to Grand Central Station. If you go just a little west of New Haven - say Stamford - your wife will have a convenient drive to Yale and you'll have better access to NYC.

Just to make you feel better, it snowed (ok it was a few flurries) in Delaware this morning (4/5/07). And just to think, it's colder in Connecticut which is 4-6 hours North of here. I heard parts of New England got 6-8" of snow this week. Good Luck to you and your wife on the move.

Bummer dude ... Was hoping you all would be heading N rather than E. BUT ! I am glad that "your wife" got in to a good school ( I would imagine ) and continues her pursuit. Congrats to her ! Looking forward to the "moving back to the Bay Area" part ...
