Time Tracking without the Timesheet
September 22nd, 2006 | Cool News, Links & Reviews
I wanted to recommend SlimTimer for anyone who hates tracking their time. The concept is simple enough: create a few tasks, click on a task when you start it, and click on it when you’re finished. The site times your tasks and allows you to run reports on what you’ve done. I’ve used the tool a few times and it’s solid. They even have a sys tray add-in in case you don’t want to keep their pop-up window open.
Check it out if you have some free cycles.

I just found timetrackit.com which seems like a good one too. No systray add-in but quite a few more reporting options.
Thanks for the shout out Rob. Let me know if you have any ideas on how to improve the experience.
There’s another light-weight online time tracking application called ToadTime. It doesn’t have a built in timer, but hours are pretty easy to enter and it gets rid of the paper mess. Not to mention it let’s you generate invoices automatically from your time entries and it’s got a place to track tasks as well. It’s also nicely integrated with QuickBooks for anybody who needs real accounting software.
